The project supports cooperation arrangements between private-sector, state and civil society stakeholders to improve working and living conditions. These cooperation arrangements address not only those directly employed in the textile and clothing industry, but also people living in the vicinity of factories in partner countries in which Germany is engaged in development cooperation. The multi-stakeholder projects supported may emerge within the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, in the form of Partnership Initiatives. These are joint projects launched by members of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles to implement the action plan and partnership standards. Equally, they can have their roots in the partner countries. In this case, approaches are devised through the existing development cooperation portfolio and through structures and networks in partner countries to improve working and production conditions. These are then carried out within the scope of multi-stakeholder partnerships. The Promotion of multi-stakeholder projects for sustainable textile supply chains project thus supports approaches and concepts from partner countries, and measures of particular political interest, as well as Partnership Initiatives.
