Supplier Qualification Programme (SQP) Phase VII


The project aims to improve the working and living conditions of the workers in the supply chain. At the same time, it helps to boost the general productivity of the factory and contributes to responsible use of chemicals and natural resources.

Short description

The factories will be comprehensively advised on social, environmental and economic issues and capacities will be developed in order to maintain the results of the project in the long-term.

  1. Social: Improving occupational safety, social standards, health promotion and the promotion of women.
  2. Environmental: Setting up an environmental management system, developing the chemicals management system, implementing the detox requirements.
  3. Economic: Building capacities in the areas of ecoefficiency and productivity


Health service:

  • More than 7,000 workers were treated by the mobile health service, including care in connection with accidents at work, general medical examinations, eye examinations and treatment, diabetes
  • More than 9,000 vaccinations of sewing workers in the factories were performed
  • More than 650 female sewing workers received medical support in preparation for giving birth


As a result of implementing the measures identified by the project, the factories saved energy equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 12,300 German households, reduced CO2 emissions equivalent to 73 million vehicle-miles and cut their overall energy costs by more than EUR 550,000
